I think it’s safe to say that we all could use a little good news in the midst of these unprecedented times. So, as always, we are here to fill you in on the latest motorcycle headlines you need to know. But this month, we are specifically highlighting motorcycle-related stories that are inspiring, fun, and lighthearted - let’s dive in.

New York City’s Motorcycle Community Rides to Save Lives - The motorcycle community in New York is stepping up in a big way. Two weeks ago, Ryan Snelson and three other bikers partnered with a grassroots campaign called Masks for Docs whose mission is to connect people who have PPE with hospitals and health clinics around the country. Donations of surgical, construction and N95 masks, hand sanitizers, hazmat suits, disposable scrubs, face shields, and gowns have all been made to the Masks for Docs campaign. These riders stepped up to offer delivery services on their bikes to those in need all over NYC. More than 60 riders have now joined their “moto squad” and PPE has been delivered to all five New York City boroughs as well as northern New Jersey. They understand the risks but are taking proper safety precautions during each delivery including social distancing. “Moto squad's riders will do whatever it takes to stop the outbreak and slow down the rate of transmission,” Snelson said. Big kudos to the moto squad. We wish you well on your mission. Read More.

If You Can’t Ride Together, Listen Together - Indian Motorcycle has recently called upon its fans to submit their favorite riding song on one of their latest Instagram & Facebook posts. Do you have a song that automatically comes to mind? Indian has curated a fan-sourced playlist that all riders can enjoy. The manufacturer stated in the post, “While we can't share the ride together, we can share the music that makes up our personal soundtracks.” We love this idea and can’t wait to hear the playlist curated from riders just like you. Check out the playlist here.

Motorcycle Champ Toni Bou Stunts Around His House During Quarantine - Alright, we might not recommend this for everyone - but Toni Bou sure knows how to spice up quarantine. If you didn’t know, Toni Bou has been the FIM world motorcycle trials champion since 2007, and holds titles for both outdoor and indoor competitions. A new YouTube video shows Toni riding around in his home on his bike while brushing his teeth and playing with his dog. He also takes the fun outdoors where he stunts off a wall of his home and rides down a staircase with a 90-degree turn before hopping the bike onto a workbench. Safe to say we think he’s getting a little antsy. Check out the video for yourself.

A Motorcycle Company Making a Difference - Just last week, Piedmont Newnan Hospital in Georgia recently received a large donation of supplies from Yamaha Motor Manufacturing of America. As of March 24, Yamaha has donated 380 respirators, 49,000 gloves, 325 Tyvek suits, and 18,000 alcohol wipes. “We are proud of our employees who have stepped up to support our community and local hospital by donating personal protective equipment particularly at this time of need,” said Bob Brown, Vice President of Finance and Operations Support at Yamaha Motor Manufacturing Company. We love seeing the motorcycle industry step up and we expect to see this trend continue in the coming months. Read More.

You are officially caught up on the good news you need to know this month. We hope you continue to stay safe and healthy during this time and as always, stay tuned for next month’s news headlines.
