January Featured Destination: Deals Gap (North Carolina)

Each month Cycle Trader features one great vacation spot from across the United States. For the month of January we have selected Deals Gap. US Highway 129, which runs through the Great Smoky Mountains region of North Carolina has earned a reputation as a picturesque, yet challenging stretch of road that can test even the most experienced rider. Known for winding curves and rolling hills, the Dragon as it is often referred, is a unique destination in a once remote frontier region of North Carolina. Have you experienced Deals Gap? If so share your stories on our Facebook page.

I found the place to nothing but an overrated motorcycle tourist trap.

the dragon is the most awesome place you can ride, and not be on a track.... take your A-game, dont be stupid, and keep it in your lane...keep it in your freaking lane.....

There are some great videos of "shooting the gap" on YouTube too. :) I have several friends who have ridden it too. They all came back saying it was biker paradise! Highly recommended!
