Clutch and Chrome features a story on the role motorcycles play in upcoming summer films Star Trek, Wolverine, and Terminator Salvation. According to the story, motorcycle riding sets the tone for the lead characters of these films and their independent spirit.

William Shatner, the original Captain Kirk of the Star Trek TV series, rides motorcycles. In this YouTube video, Shatner describes learning to ride as a teenager by "borrowing" his neighbor's bike.

In the upcoming Terminator Salvation, killer robot motorcycles roam the roads of the post-nuclear landscape and do battle with human resistance fighters.

Here is video of the bikes, inspired by the Ducati Hypermotoard, in action...

The Ducati homepage features more details.

The character of Wolverine can be very foul-tempered, but actor Hugh Jackman was all smiles when he arrived at the film's premiere in Tempe, Arizona last week.
