25th Annual Laughlin River Run gets under way

The Kingman Daily Miner in Kingman, Arizona features a story on the 25th Annual Laughlin River Run.

Over 60,000 bikers are expected to attend the Laughlin River Run, which is described as the largest bike rally in the Western United States. The article features some history of the River Run that dates back to 1983.

The KillaCycle electric drag bike

Here are some pictures of the KillaCycle, an electric drag bike owned and designed by Bill Dube’.


Described as “giant cordless drill with wheels”, the 350 horsepower that drives the KillaCycle comes from 990 Lithium Ion cells, the same type of batteries that run your cell phone and laptop computer.

According to the KillaCycle website…

It is currently the quickest 1/4 mile electric drag bike in the world. Recently driver Scott Pollacheck did a record 8.168 second @ 155.78 MPH run at Firebird Raceway in Arizona.

25th Anniversary Laughlin River Run

The 25th Anniversary Laughlin River Run will be held April 25th – 29th in the town of Laughlin, Nevada, located just 100 miles south of Las Vegas on the banks of the majestic Colorado River.

This year’s River Run Concert Series features rock legends
ZZ Top plus The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Warrant, Johnny Lang and L.A. Guns.

Intel promotes new chips with custom bike from Orange County Choppers

Intel is celebrating 30 years of delivering embedded computing products with an Intel-themed embedded technology-based motorcycle by Orange County Choppers.

The Intel motorcycle is more than just pretty metal and paint. According to the Intel site...

"The breakthrough performance and power efficiency that characterize the industry's first quad-core processors for embedded are as unmistakable as the raw power of the four cylinders of the Intel Chopper's quad engine," said Doug Davis, vice president and general manager of Intel's Embedded and Communications Group. "This 250-horsepower chopper – designed using quad-core Intel computers – is more than just a mechanical powerhouse; it's also a marvel of embedded technology with an ultra-mobile PC powering fingerprint recognition for security and a digital dashboard with ignition control, digital gauges, cameras that replace rear-view mirrors, integrated audio and video systems, GPS navigation and wireless connectivity."

Rucker Performance introduces new Superform Aluminum gas tanks

Here is an image of new Superform Aluminum gas tanks offered by Rucker Performance.

Rucker Performance has partnered with Superform USA to introduce a patented process and distribute innovative aluminum motorcycle gas tanks.

According to Rucker Performance, Superform USA has patented a new aluminum tank used in the Rucker Performance Assassin production model.

The superplastic forming process of the aluminum can be tailored to particular shapes and formed in a range of alloys. The process and tanks do not exist anywhere else in the V-Twin motorcycle industry.

Is China poised to be a force in the motorcycle industry?

You may have seen ads for Harley-Davidson's "Build Yours" campaign, featuring images of people made from motorcycle parts.

The ads were made by taking motorcycle parts and arranging them on a giant floor, creating a portrait of each Harley rider.
