44% more baby boomers are riding motorcycles

Motorcycle riders have had an image of rebellion since Marlon Brando starred in The Wild One.

According to The Financial Post on Canada.com, the average motorcycle rider is a baby boomer, and their numbers are increasing.

Motorcycle ownership among the baby boomer generation, born between 1946 and 1964 and who grew up with Easy Rider, has increased over 44%.

Good news, but what are they riding? What size are they riding? Are they really riding or do they just own one because it is "a thing"? My experience with this age of owners is they trailer their motorcycle where ever they go and then ride. Most of the older riders ride to "where ever" and then ride when they get there. Big difference in owning and riding.
